Let me just quickly start off by saying that my husband is slightly totally obsessed with lawn care. Whereas my dream of owning a home was to decorate, his dream was to cut the grass. To each his own! The second we pulled into the driveway after our closing, Jay commented on the grass stating that it would need a trim soon. Sadly, we did not own a lawnmower, so that dream had to be put to the back burner until we had the funds to purchase one. Thankfully, his wonderful mother offered to buy us one as a housewarming gift. (THANK YOU, CAROL!! xoxo)
After a quick chat with our new neighbor, we realized we better get that grass cut ASAP! (Our cute neighbor next door, an older German man, introduced himself to Jay the other day. After several minutes of small talk he says, “So when are you going to mow that lawn??” Jay nearly died! I laughed hysterically!) So, off we went to our new favorite store, Home Depot, to purchase our new baby!
He quickly put it together and began his task.
He started first by cutting the borders of the lawn and then settled on a diagonal pattern.
He even gave Josh lessons halfway through, looks like there’s a new lawnmower in the family.
It took the two of them three hours to complete the task, but the lawn looks absolutely beautiful! Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for my boys. They look exhausted!
I even helped beautify the backyard a bit by planting some pansies into some pots that we already had. Thanks to Carole Miller for the beautiful flowers!
